RIMDrill Standard Overview
As the core member of the RIMDrill family, this application contains all of the features required for a complete drilling information system. Rig based systems collect and store all of the data on the IADC daily drilling report allowing the creation of electronic copies of the report in an officially approved IADC format. Data can then be securely transferred to an office based system using an integrated communications module. When used in the office environment the system acts as a central database where users have access to all rig information. RIMDrill has a suite of summary reports, graphs, schematics and data browsers to provide both rig and office users with the tools to better understand and manage their operations.
Key features of RIMDrill include:
- Easy to setup and use on all types of rigs
- Efficient data entry using carry forwards and look-up lists where appropriate
- Tracks key rig performance indicators
- Runs on standard Windows PC’s and servers
- Uses Microsoft Access database technology
- Scalable for all types of installations from single user rig site systems to networked office environments
- Payroll data can be exported for use by other applications
- Automated communications routines for flexible data transfers between rig sites and offices
- Wide selection of reports and graphs provide users with data summaries and tools to improve operational awareness
- E-mailing of reports direct from the database
- Fully customizable units of measure and paper size for international operations
The key benefits of RIMDrill include:
- Consistent, legible, high quality IADC reports
- Data from all rigs stored at one central site provides an information reservoir for management and operations personnel
- Coding of operations activities helps users measure and compare operational performance levels
- Improved understanding of rig performance using key operational indicators
- Knowledge and experience retention - important if there are operational time gaps in a particular area
- Upgradeable to RIMDrill SQL (using the Microsoft SQL Server database engine) for larger networked office environments
- Easy access to historical data improves well planning for turnkey operations
