Instructor-Led Training
Instructor–Led Training (ILT) classes are offered for situations where a customer requests an onsite Infostat instructor to conduct specifically targeted at educating a broad range of RIMDrill Users and Administrators to a sufficiently high level to ensure that they gain the maximum benefit from the application in the most efficient manner. The broad scope of RIMDrill and associated “plug-in” modules means that most customers will typically have a deployment that is a “mix and match” between the standard RIMDrill application and the available options. This means that the training requirements will differ from one customer to another. Infostat can tailor the class content to maximize the value for the customer.
These classes will be held at the customer’s office or off-site at a location provided by the customer.
Classes are targeted at 2 basic types of people who need to deploy, support and use RIMDrill – administrators and day to day users. The following are options that can be selected as part of a RIMDrill ILT training program.
RIMDrill Administrators: These are typically IT staff who are responsible for the deployment and maintenance of the application. Course content is structured to cover such topics as hardware and network requirements, security and user access controls, rig to office data transfer mechanisms and application deployment for both rig and office users. This group may also include “super users” who are responsible for system configuration and for areas such as look-up code specification and data quality settings. This class takes 1 day.
RIMDrill Users: These are the users who typically use RIMDrill to fulfill the daily reporting needs of their company. They can be rig or office based. At the rig users are primarily engaged in data entry tasks while for office users the focus is on data distribution and analysis. Content covers topics such as:
- Product Overview and key features
- Work Flow and Data Entry
- Rig to Office Data Transfers
- Reports and Graphs
- Utilities, Maintenance and Data Quality
- Troubleshooting
This is a 1 day class.
Modules
In addition to covering the standard application ILT classes can also include training content for the following RIMDrill modules and how they work with RIMDrill. These include:
- Rig Personnel Management (RPM)
- Insights
- Multiple Activity Centers (MAC)
- Rig Sync/Enterprise Sync
- Billing
- Marine
- Reporter
The length of these classes vary but will typically be 2 hours per module

RIMDrill Webinar Training
Recognizing the remote location and the variable work schedules of many RIMDrill users, especially those working on rigs, Infostat offers training via webinar. Webinars are designed to cover topics that are essential for the day to day users of the application. Topics covered include:
- Installing RIMDrill
- Basic configuration
- Look-up codes
- Setting up a new rig
- Setting up a new job
- Staring a new daily report
- Completing an official and licensed IADC DDR report
- Sending data to the office
- Basic maintenance and troubleshooting
While webinar content is standardized for most users it can also be tailored for specific situations upon request.
Webinar durations may vary but they typically last 3 hours.
Webinar Requirements: computer with speakers and microphone connected to the internet.
NOTE: it has been our experience that offshore rigs do not always have adequate bandwidth to receive the streaming Webinar. In situations like this it is best to have rig-based personnel scheduled for a Webinar during their on-shore time.
